Introducing WebRTC for video visitation. 

 

WebRTC is replacing the flash player technology currently in use. This will allow the use of an IOS device for both scheduling and conducting video visits.

 

  1. IOS users will need to ensure the default Apple device browser is set to Safari. Using Safari, users should navigate to https://ildoc.gtlvisitme.com/app for scheduling and conducting video visits.

 

Android Users will need to update to the latest version of the applications GTL – Schedule Visits (1 of 2) and GTL – Internet Visits (2 of 2). Users will also need to change auto-update to enabled instead of disabled.

 

All ILDOC sites are currently live with WebRTC.

 

ILDOC RECOMMENDS USING HEADPHONES FOR VIDEO VISITS TO ELIMINATE BACKGROUND NOISE AND IMPROVE AUDIO QUALITY.

 

Visitors can contact the jail regarding approvals only.  Any other visitation inquiries should be directed to GTL visitor support.

Attention: Change in Video Visitation Guidelines at ILDOC
Regarding automatic cancellations

 

Effective Tuesday, May 12, 2020, if you are scheduled for a video visitation meeting with your inmate and do not sign in within the first 5 minutes of the reserved arrival time, the system will automatically cancel the visit. This change is being implemented by the Illinois DOC and GTL to improve the quality of the ongoing visits. Thank you for your understanding.
